A little about me

I first discovered a passion for trees the summer I graduated from University. I had acquired a temporary job with a treetop trekking company. Right then I knew I had to build a career that combined my degree subject, biology, and the outdoors. Arboriculture was the key to merging these two criteria. It wasn’t long before I was enrolled in the arboriculture program at Humber College, ready to start my journey in becoming an arborist.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to work for two great companies throughout my career. Companies which encouraged personal growth and employed an amazing bunch of arborists that I have learned so much from.
My passion for all things arboriculture has continued and I am currently working towards my MSc in Arboriculture & Urban Forestry (Edit - I graduated May 2018). I feel that education is of great importance when it comes to creating a healthy urban forest. I love to educate and I regularly teach workshops with ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Ontario. I sometimes feel I need to be reined in a little when I start giving out tree advice, but once I start talking about trees, it’s hard to stop…..a bit like now I guess. I promise I am almost done!
